Braunschweig extends contract with Nico Dilukila June 27, 2010 Nico Dilukila will return to Spot Up Medien Baskets Braunschweig in Pro B next season. After 2 years for Breitenguessbach Nico moved to Braunschweig in the past season and averaged there in 29 games 4.1ppg, 2.7rpg as well as 1.4apg. The 22-year-old combo guard improved from 2.9ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.0apg in the season before. Nico played in 82 Pro B games so far and is now looking to make the next step in his career.
| Bastian Wolff remains true to Hertener Loewen June 18, 2010 Bastian Wolff is going into his second season for the Hertener Loewen in German Pro B. In the past season the 23-year-old forward/center had a backup role in the team (6.5min) and finished with 2.1ppg and 1.2rpg, while shooting 56.0% from the field. In addition he finished as Runner-Up with Hertener Loewen in Pro B. After the departures of Cory Abercrombie (Luxembourg) and Joleik Schaffrath (Cuxhaven BasCats, Pro A) Bastian will get the possibility to step up in the team next season.
| Michael Fleischmann makes jump into Pro A June 11, 2010 After 79 games in German Pro B for Wolfenbuettel Dukes and Spot Up Medien Baskets Braunschweig, Michael Fleischmann moves to Wuerzburg Baskets - which just moved up into Pro A - for the upcoming season. After 2 years in Pro B he had his break trough in Braunschweig in 09-10 season. Michael was 3rd best scorer of his team with 13.0ppg and 2nd best rebounder of his team with 4.3rpg. With 42.0% he has been one of the best three point shooters in Pro B as well. In Wuerzburg Michael will play on position 4 and 3.
| New shooter for Rattelsdorf Independents May 29, 2010 After departure of Bobby Long at the end of the season (back to College) was certain, Rattelsdorf Independents already found a follower for him. With Augie Johnston, an excellent three point shooter arrives in Rattelsdorf. Augie already played this season in Germany. In 2. Regionalliga West he finished as runner-up with Velbert Baskets and averaged 28.4ppg. In 07-08 season Augie has been second best three point shooter in whole NCAA2 with 50.0% (67-134) successful threes. As Rattelsdorf had the most three point attempts (1.503) among all teams in Germany this season, Augie will be a perfect fit for the team of coach Rainer Wolfschmitt.
| Michael Haucke accepts offer from Stahnsdorf May 25, 2010 In the past weeks Michael Haucke has been one of the hottest German centers on the market. Only three months before most teams didn´t have the 6'11'' giant on their agenda. Starting the season for BSW Sixers in German 1. Regionalliga he averaged 5.1ppg and 3.0rpg until his player movement to Stahnsdorf (Pro B). Given the trust of the coach, he surprised many critics with his performances for his new team. in 11 season games Michael thereby scored 11.5ppg, 9.3rpg (#1 in the league), 1.5apg and 2.4bpg (#1 in the league) while shooting a high 67.9% from the field (#2 in the league). Despite numerous offers he now decided to stay in Stahnsdorf for another season as the team had given him a great opportunity before.
| Contract Extension for Adrian Hill May 20, 2010 After he joined the team in the past season not until December, Adrian Hill is now the first player in the roster of Science City Jena for the upcoming season. After a poor season start (3-7) Jena won 10 out of the remaining 20 games to finish on a respectable 10th place in German Pro A. Adrian averaged 12.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.4bpg while shooting 67.5% from the field (3rd best in Pro A). In addition he finished in Top10 in rebounding and in Top6 in shot blocking in the league.
| Hanau stays unbeaten in 2010 February 01, 2010 With an 93-89 win after extra time against Heidelberg/Kirchheim, Hanau White Wings managed to get their 5th win in a row and their 4th win in the 4th season game in 2010. Markus Konecny was topscorer of the game with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Wadale Williams scored 17 points (5 of 7 threes) and grabbed 9 rebounds while Alonzo Brooks finished the game with 18 points and 9 rebounds. 5 players of Hanau scored in double digits. On Heidelberg´s side Philipp Rittinger has been best player with 24 points.
| Sajmen Hauer is back January 18, 2010 With his best season performance so far Sajmen Hauer showed impressively that he is back. In the road game of his team RSV Eintracht Stahnsdorf in Ehingen Sajmen showed his class with 31 points (13 of 19 from the field), 10 assists and 2 steals and has been a guarantor for the 101-87 road win. After his injury in the last season that led to a contract cancellation in Nuremberg the 21 year old is currently one of the best point guards in the Pro B. In 16 season games he averaged 14.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 4.2apg and 1.3spg and helped his team to a 9-7 record despite having one of the smallest budgets in the league. | Calvin Brock leads Weissenhorn to 2nd season win October 11, 2009 Together with center Mirko Soyer (23 points, 10 rebounds) and Johannes Betz (20 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists) Calvin Brock lead BC Scholz Recycling Weissenhorn to a 98-83 home win against SC Rasta Vechta. Calvin finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in his first game after his suspension and showed why the Panthers have signed him. The two US boys Marlone Jackson (18 points, 8 rebounds) and Chris Thompson (19 points, 10 rebounds) have been the strongest players for Vechta.
| SUM Baskets Braunschweig win derby October 05, 2009 After a close game SUM Baskets Braunschweig defeated local rival Herzoege Wolfenbuettel with 87-76 in Pro B. With 14 points and 6 rebounds Nico Dilukila has been one of the key factors against Wolfenbuettel and helpped his team to gain the first win of the season. Beside Dilukila, Jusuf El Domiaty with 21 points (5 of 8 threes) and Lee Roberts with 21 points and 8 rebounds were the most successful scorers for Braunschweig. It has been an important win for the team of Head Coach Liviu Calin before the two tough road games in Rhoendorf and Leverkusen.
| Successful season start for White Wings September 20, 2009 In their first game in German 1. Regionalliga Southwest TG 1837 Hanau won a close game versus BSG Basket Ludwigsburg in the end with 73-70. Both teams have been very nervous at the season opener. In the end the more experienced team won the game. Sebastian Koehnert has been most important player for the White Wings with 22 points as well as 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Also Alonzo Brooks showed a good performance in his first game for his new team. With 25 points (10 of 14 from the field) he became topscorer right away. Wadale Williams finished the game with 11 points, 2 reounds, 2 assists and impressive 9 steals.
| Sajmen Hauer strengthens Stahnsdorf in German Pro B September 14, 2009 Sajmen Hauer is back in German Pro B. After a season with ups and downs for Franken Hexer an injury stopped the 21 years old point guard. Now he is giving a comeback for Pro B opponent RSV Stahnsdorf. Sajmen has been one of the most promising talents for German basketball on the point guard position and has been part of all German junior national teams (U16, U18, U20). In addition he already played 22 games in German BBL and 7 games in Euroleague/ULEB-Cup for Bamberg. 07/08 Sajmen has been one of the best Germans in Pro A with 16.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.5apg before an injury pushed him back in the last season. With limited time on the court he averaged 10.6ppg, 1.2rpg and 2.3apg for Franken Hexer in Pro B. Now he is back on the court and wants to find back to his old strength again.
| Calvin Brock joins BC Scholz Recycling Weissenhorn August 24, 2009 Calvin Brock, graduate from the University of Illinois will start his professional basketball career in Germany and will join BC Scholz Recycling Weißenhorn in Pro B. In the last 4 years Calvin played with Illinois in famous Big 10 Conference, one of the strongest NCAA conferences in the USA. He mainly played the 2 and 3 position. Illinois belongs to the top teams in Big 10 Conference for years and made it in the past 3 years twice to the Big 10 Tournament Semifinals (07, 09) and once to the Finals (09). Calvin has been an important part of the team and often came as an energizer from the bench. Thereby he averaged 5.2ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.2apg in 121 games for his team. In his last college game for the Illinois Fighting Illini Calvin scored 14 points and 10 rebounds in the NCAA tournament versus Western Kentucky.
| DeAndre Haynes makes jump into BBL August 08, 2009 DeAndre started his career in Belgium after he had graduated at Kent State (NCAA1). In his first season under current Trier coach Yves Defraigne he averaged 4.0ppg, 1.3rpg, 1.1apg and 1.0spg as backup for BBC Royal Atomia Brussels. In his second season he increased to 9.4ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg for Okapi Aalstar, before he moved to Hungary in his third season. There he played for the Hungarian top team Kecskemeti Univer KSE and finished with 13.6ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.4apg and 2.1spg. In the upcoming season DeAndre will be the starting point guard at German BBL team Paderborn Baskets and will try to help the team with his experience.
| Williams and Brooks will play for Hanau White Wings May 05, 2009 Wadale Williams and Alonzo Brooks, both graduates of UCMO, signed contracts with Hanau Wild Wings for the 09/10 season in German 1. Regionalliga Southwest. Williams was already part of the championship team this season and averaged 21.7ppg, 6.7rpg, 4.7apg and 5.5spg in 19 season games. Brooks, who participated together with Williams in the NCAA2 Final Four 2007, already played for Erdgas Ehingen/Urspringschule and Aschersleben Tigers in Germany.
| Weller Sports now FIBA certified agency April 14, 2009 Today Jens Weller, owner of Weller Sports, received his FIBA Players' Agents License. He successfully passed the FIBA Players' Agents Test end of March in Geneva (Switzerland). The license will be compulsory for international transfers in the future. In addition the license helps to eliminate unreliable agencies/agents on the player market.
