March 30, 2012

news/Robin Christen.jpgRobin Christen is the next talented player after Paul Muensinger that decided for Weller Sports talent offensive 2012. The 18-year-old forward started 2007 in BBLZ Mittelhessen and run through all youth and cooperation teams of the LTi Giessen 46ers. Already in his 2nd year he claimed a place in the NBBL Allstar Game and repeated this success in his 3rd season. In the same period he gained Pro B experience with the Licher BasketBaeren (11min: 2.9ppg, 1.1rpg). 10-11 Robin made the next step (15min: 4.4ppg, 2.3rpg). In the expired season he stepped up again to 6.8ppg and 3.5rpg in 21 minutes.

news/Paul Muensinger.jpgPaul Muensinger breaks the first ground and becomes part of the talent offensive 2012. The forward of the BSW Sixers (Pro B) comes from the ALBA junior team. Via Jena and the MBC he came to the Sixers in 1st Regionalliga two years ago. The team moved up to the Pro B in the same season. Paul contriuted 2.9ppg and 1.4rpg to the success. This year he belongs to the most improved players. In 20 season games ge averaged 5.5ppg and 2.9rpg and took over a fix role in the team of head coach Stephen Arigbabu. Paul is still under contract and aims to take the next step in his development with the Sixers next season.

Weller Sports starts talent offensive 2012
January 12, 2012

news/Logo.jpgAfter good experiences in the past years, Weller Sports now expands the cooperation with young German talents. Consulting including career management stays the most important component of the cooperation. Many young players are (just) short of market transparency: At which club studies/apprenticeship can be combined with basketball? Does a double-license make sense? At which club will I have best developmental possibilities without sitting on the bench all the time? How can I protect myself in case of injury? ...?

With the right career management and guidance, the development of young players can be optimzed. Biggest success of Weller Sports so far has been the development of young players from 1st Regionalliga to A2 National Team Player (Blanchard Obiango) and from 2nd Regionalliga to BBL player with regular working time (Patrick Wischnewski). Further success stories can be written in the near future.
